Congregational Retreat Thanks!

Thanks to everyone in the TSS congregation who contributed to the excellent, warm, productive retreat on Sunday January 27th. It is good to see that we can have a full and open exchange of ideas in a supportive, respectful, and spiritual setting. This is really accomplishing the hard work of making a congregation, and we thank all for their involvement!

It’s in the Torah – “In the Big Inning”… Team Jersey Fun Friday Shabbat

Great Fun Friday Shabbat this week!

photo (17)Many of us wore our team jerseys, and said an extra prayer for our team. There were special oneg snacks for the kids and young at heart. This may prove to be a popular Temple worship experience! Go Eagles, Steelers, Phillies, Sixers, Flyers. No one dared to wear their Giants jerseys, although there seem to be some closet Giant fans in the congregation.

Take 5 minutes for a cheek swab and save a life!
(18-55 year old only)

Shira Klein, a 35 year old wife and mother of three young children, has been battling Hodgkins Lymphoma for nearly 2 years. Chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant using her own stem cells yielded brief remissions, but Shira has relapsed and now needs a stem cell transplant from a donor. Her best chance at a match lies with people of similar ancestry and enthnic background.

We are reaching out to the community to ask all eligible people to have a simple cheek swab test that may help save Shira’s life or the life of another.
