Shabbat Worship at Congregation Sons of Israel

We will be sharing Shabbat Friday night services with Congregation Sons of Israel. It gives us the opportunity to hear a wonderful traditional Chazzan. Cantor Yaakov Lemmer is the Chazzan in Residence this month at Sons of Israel. His bio is below. We will meet at services at Sons of Israel. Note – worship services at 5:15 PM.

Yaakov Lemmer is an internationally performing cantor and concert artist, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He is often recognized for his smooth tenor voice, his dramatic tone, and ability to sing in several languages and styles. Trained by top cantors from a young age, Lemmer had years of practice to perfect his own personal style. He is in demand as part of the international music and Jewish communities alike. From concerts in the United States to events and performances throughout Europe and Israel, he is described as a positive and powerful stage presence. Yaakov was invited to sing at the Jewish Culture Festival in Budapest (2007), the Boston Jewish Music Festival (2011), and at the 70th anniversary of Warsaw Ghetto Uprising (2013). He is now the cantor of the Lincoln Square Synagogue in New York City.
